This 7-day Chimpanzee Trekking and Wildlife Uganda Safari takes you to three remarkable national parks. First, explore Kibale Forest National Park, known as the “Primate Capital of the World,” where you’ll have the chance to see up to 13 different primate species, including a walk through the Bigodi Swamp. Next, visit Lake Mburo National Park, often called the “Whispers of the Wild,” where you’ll enjoy a walking safari to observe wildlife on foot, along with a game drive and a relaxing boat cruise. Finally, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Here, you’ll experience a truly rewarding wildlife game drive and a scenic boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

Detailed itinerary
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver-guide will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to your chosen accommodation. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Cassia Lodge.
After breakfast, your guide will meet you and transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way, you'll pass through charming villages and stop at a roadside market to experience the local culture. Enjoy a delightful lunch en route before continuing to the park, where you'll check in at your lodge. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Swamp for a guided walk, where you'll have the chance to spot monkeys and various bird species. The walk takes you through grasslands, local communities eager to greet visitors, coffee plantations, and gardens where you'll see how locals carry out their daily work. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
Begin your day with a delicious continental breakfast before heading to the Park Headquarters for a briefing on the great apes—chimpanzees. After the briefing, you’ll enter the dense forest to search for them. The tracking experience typically lasts between one and three hours and presents opportunities to encounter various other primate species, including grey-crowned cranes, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest's monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys, as well as numerous forest bird species, unique butterflies, reptiles, and amphibians. Your guide will alert you to the presence of chimps upon hearing their calls, and you'll spend one hour observing them up close. After your chimpanzee experience, return to the lodge for lunch. Then, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying a scenic 3–4-hour drive through the peaceful city of Fort Portal, lush tea plantations, and distant views of the Rwenzori Mountains with a stopover at new renovated Equator monument of Kikorongo. Arrive in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Irungu Forest Safari resort.
After an early morning breakfast, set out for a game drive in the Kasenyi area of the park. Keep an eye out for both small and large herds of elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, prides of lions, spotted hyenas, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and many other species. You'll also pass by some of the famous crater lakes known for attracting migratory birds, especially flamingos. After your drive, return to the lodge for a hot lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat trip along the stunning Kazinga Channel, providing an excellent opportunity to see wildlife up close, including giant hippos lounging just meters from the boat and Nile crocodiles basking on the banks. The lush shores of the Kazinga Channel are home to a variety of bird species, including pink-backed pelicans, African fish eagles, pied and malachite kingfishers, grey-crowned cranes, and saddle-billed storks, among others. After your exciting day, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Irungu Forest Safari resort.
After your morning breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge proceed with the journey to Lake Mburo national park. On arrival at the park check in at the lodge reserved for you, have lunch after which you will go for the horseback ride for less hours, to see the animals at close range. Dinner and overnight stay at Mburo safari lodge.
Wake early and have time to take a delight breakfast before you head for a game drive through the park in search of game like the zebras, hippos, crocodiles, elands, antelopes, impalas and a variety of bird species. After you will return to your lodge for lunch and then head for a 2-hour boat launch on Lake Mburo to see animals like the hippos, crocodiles and various bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Mburo safari lodge.
After breakfast, a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide will meet you for a briefing before leading you on a guided safari walk. This is a great opportunity for those who want to stretch their legs and experience wildlife on foot. Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda where you can enjoy a safari walk, offering a unique unique chance to see the same animals you would spot on a game drive, but this time up close and on foot. After the walk, we’ll check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala, with lunch served along the way.
