Safari Overview
The 17-day safari begins in Entebbe, taking you on an exhilarating adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of western and southwestern Uganda before returning to Entebbe. Journey westward to Lake Mburo National Park and Bwindi, where you’ll experience unforgettable gorilla trekking and visit the Batwa community. In Semliki National Park, marvel at the hot springs before heading to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking and a stroll through the Bigodi swamp. Explore the wonders of Queen Elizabeth National Park, then visit Murchison Falls National Park, making a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Look out for lions and leopards during your adventures before wrapping up your trip with a visit to the tranquil Lake Bunyonyi. Finally, the safari concludes in Jinja with a boat cruise to the Source of the Nile, the longest river in the world.

Detailed itinerary
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver-guide will warmly welcome you and escort you to your selected accommodation. Relax and enjoy dinner, followed by an overnight stay at Cassia Lodge.
After breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up to start your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, you'll stop at the equator, where you can stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. As you travel through the savannah grasslands, you'll pass banana plantations and herds of the unique long-horned Ankole cattle, a common sight in this area. A visit to Igongo Cultural Museum will provide insights into the history of the Banyankole tribe and the western region, followed by lunch at the Igongo restaurant. Upon arrival at Lake Mburo, you'll check in at the lodge and enjoy a short horseback ride to observe wildlife up close. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Mburo Safari Lodge.
Wake early and have time to take a delight breakfast before you head for a game drive through the park in search of game like the zebras, hippos, crocodiles, elands, antelopes, impalas and a variety of bird species. After you will return to your lodge for lunch and then head for a 2-hour boat launch on Lake Mburo to see animals like the hippos, crocodiles and various bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Mburo safari lodge.
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, take in the beautiful scenery of banana plantations, Ankole tea estates, picturesque landscapes, and the winding roads of Kabale. Stop for lunch enroute before arriving at the park. Once you arrive, relax and enjoy a leisurely evening at the lodge. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge.
After an early breakfast, your guide will accompany you to the starting point of your exhilarating morning gorilla trek, with a packed lunch in hand. You'll venture into the dense jungle, trekking through the wilderness to reach the gorillas. Once there, you'll have an unforgettable hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. After the trek, you'll be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi, where you can relax and take in the breathtaking views and fresh air. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort.
After breakfast, set off on a mid-morning boat cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi, renowned for its crystal-clear depths and 29 charming islands. You can choose to swim in the bilharzia-free waters or simply relax along the peaceful shoreline, soaking in the natural beauty. Enjoy lunch before continuing to Kisoro town, where you'll check in at Kisoro Traveler’s Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for the adventure awaiting you the next day.
After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga National Park for a briefing before starting your golden monkey trekking adventure. This exhilarating trek will give you the chance to observe the playful golden monkeys up close while exploring the park's diverse attractions. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, then continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the stunning landscapes along the way, including the scenic, winding roads of Kabale, banana plantations, and Ankole tea estates. Upon arrival, check in at Baboon Safari Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you'll head out for a game drive in the Kasenyi area of the park. Keep an eye out for both small and large herds of elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, prides of lions, spotted hyenas, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and a variety of other wildlife. Along the way, you'll pass some of the park's famous crater lakes, which attract migratory birds, particularly flamingos. After your drive, return to the lodge for a delicious hot lunch. In the afternoon, set off on a boat trip along the picturesque Kazinga Channel, where you'll have the chance to see wildlife up close, including giant hippos lounging just a few meters away and Nile crocodiles basking on the banks. The lush shores are teeming with birdlife, featuring pink-backed pelicans, African fish eagles, pied and malachite kingfishers, grey-crowned cranes, and saddle-billed storks, among others. After a day full of adventure, return to Baboon Safari resort for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After breakfast, you'll visit the scenic twin lakes of Rubirizi, with a stop at Lake Katwe to witness traditional salt mining in action. Following this exploration, return to the lodge for lunch. After checking out, continue the journey to Fort Portal, where you'll arrive and check in at Kalya Courts Hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening at leisure. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Kalya Courts Hotel.
After breakfast, embark on an exciting journey to Semliki National Park to visit the fascinating Sempaya Hot Springs, where the water temperature exceeds 100°C. You’ll even get the chance to boil eggs and bananas in the hot springs! Later, we’ll transfer to the Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru Caves and enjoy a hike around the scenic Fort Portal crater lakes. After this adventure, return to Kalya Courts Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and spend a relaxing morning at the lodge before lunch. After lunch, check out and set off on your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival, you'll check in at the lodge. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp as you prepare for the exciting adventure awaiting you the next day.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Kibale National Park Headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. You’ll be divided into small groups of six, each led by a guide who will take you into the forest to track one of the chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees live in communities ranging from 50 to 250 members, often splitting into smaller groups during the day to reduce food competition before reuniting in the evening to build their nests. Once you locate the chimps, you’ll have one hour to observe and interact with them before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a guided wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village, where you can spot other primates and numerous bird species. Afterward, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through the breathtaking scenery of the Albertine Rift Valley escarpments and the picturesque countryside, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival at the park, you'll visit the top of Murchison Falls, where you'll witness the awe-inspiring power of the waterfalls. Afterwards, check in at Ikromo Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with an early morning breakfast before heading out for a game drive. During the drive, you can expect to see Cape buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, oribis, Topis, warthogs, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and waterbucks. If you start early, you may also spot nocturnal species like lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas returning from their nighttime hunts. After 3-4 hours exploring the park, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll likely see herds of elephants, Uganda Kobs, and buffaloes on the riverbanks, while Nile crocodiles and hippos bask in the shallow waters. Birdwatchers will also be delighted by sightings of pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, malachite kingfishers, and possibly even the rare shoebill. After this fascinating experience, return to Ikromo Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After your morning breakfast, exit the park and proceed to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an unforgettable rhino tracking experience on foot. Following this, enjoy an enroute lunch before continuing your journey to Jinja in eastern Uganda. Arrival and check in at hotel paradise for dinner and overnight stay.
After your morning breakfast, we will set off on a mid-day boat cruise to the Source of the Nile, the longest river in the world. After returning for lunch, cap off your day with an exhilarating zip-lining adventure over the Nile. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at hotel paradise.
After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our journey back to Kampala/Entebbe, taking in the scenic views of sugarcane plantations and Mabira Forest along the way. Lunch will be served enroute. Finally, we will arrive in Kampala, where you will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled flight.
