The 20-day safari begins in Entebbe, taking you on an exciting journey through the stunning landscapes of western and southwestern Uganda before returning to Entebbe. Heading west along the Great North Road, your first stop is at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, followed by a visit to Kidepo Valley National Park. Next, venture into Murchison Falls National Park to search for lions and leopards. Continue to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking and birdwatching, and marvel at the diverse wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In Semuliki National Park, experience the Sempaya hot springs before heading to Bwindi for an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure. Explore the scenic beauty of Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mutanda, then visit Mgahinga for golden monkey trekking. Your adventure concludes with a stop at Lake Mburo National Park before circling back to Entebbe.

Detailed itinerary
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver-guide will warmly welcome you and escort you to your selected accommodation. Relax and enjoy dinner, followed by an overnight stay at Cassia Lodge.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you up to start the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park, a scenic drive that takes approximately 12 hours. Along the way, we will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to Uganda’s only wild rhino population, for an unforgettable experience observing these magnificent animals. After this visit, you’ll continue your journey with a stop for lunch before arriving at the park. Your day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at Kidepo Savannah Lodge.
After a hearty breakfast, set out on a morning nature walk around the park with a game ranger, perfect for stretching your legs and exploring the landscape. Return to the lodge for lunch, then head out for an evening sunset game drive in search of leopards, lions, elephants, ostriches, and various bird species. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Kidepo Savannah Lodge.
After an early breakfast, set off on a 2 to 3-hour game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park, where you'll have the chance to spot lions, elusive cheetahs, and leopards. After the drive, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural visit to the Karamojong community, where you’ll learn about their way of life and be treated to traditional dances and more. Return to Kidepo Savannah Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, stop at Aruu Falls to take in the stunning scenery and untouched nature surrounding the falls. You may also choose to swim in the fresh waters. Enjoy lunch before continuing to Murchison Falls. Upon arrival, check in at Ikromo Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with an early morning breakfast before heading out for a game drive. During the drive, you can expect to see Cape buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, oribis, Topis, warthogs, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and waterbucks. If you start early, you may also spot nocturnal species like lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas returning from their nighttime hunts. After 3-4 hours exploring the park, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll likely see herds of elephants, Uganda Kobs, and buffaloes on the riverbanks, while Nile crocodiles and hippos bask in the shallow waters. Birdwatchers will also be delighted by sightings of pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, malachite kingfishers, and possibly even the rare shoebill. After this fascinating experience, return to Ikromo Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and head to the top of Murchison Falls, where you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the powerful waterfalls. Following this, exit the park and enjoy a lunch en route as you travel towards Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Albertine Rift Valley Escarpments and picturesque countryside. Arrive at Kibale Forest National Park in the evening, where you'll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Kibale National Park Headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. You’ll be divided into small groups of six, each led by a guide who will take you into the forest to track one of the chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees live in communities ranging from 50 to 250 members, often splitting into smaller groups during the day to reduce food competition before reuniting in the evening to build their nests. Once you locate the chimps, you’ll have one hour to observe and interact with them before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a guided wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village, where you can spot other primates and numerous bird species. Afterward, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 9: Semuliki NP and craters/ Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru
After breakfast, embark on an exciting journey to Semliki National Park to visit the fascinating Sempaya Hot Springs, where the water temperature exceeds 100°C. You’ll even get the chance to boil eggs and bananas in the hot springs! Later, we’ll transfer to the Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru Caves and enjoy a hike around the scenic Fort Portal crater lakes. After this adventure, return to Kalya Courts Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 3–4-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through Fort Portal with stunning views of tea plantations and the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. Along the way, stop at the newly renovated Equator monument in Kikorongo. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. The evening is for you to relax and rest as you wait for dinner and overnight stay at Baboon safari resort.
After an early breakfast, you'll head out for a game drive in the Kasenyi area of the park. Keep an eye out for both small and large herds of elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, prides of lions, spotted hyenas, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and a variety of other wildlife. Along the way, you'll pass some of the park's famous crater lakes, which attract migratory birds, particularly flamingos. After your drive, return to the lodge for a delicious hot lunch. In the afternoon, set off on a boat trip along the picturesque Kazinga Channel, where you'll have the chance to see wildlife up close, including giant hippos lounging just a few meters away and Nile crocodiles basking on the banks. The lush shores are teeming with birdlife, featuring pink-backed pelicans, African fish eagles, pied and malachite kingfishers, grey-crowned cranes, and saddle-billed storks, among others. After a day full of adventure, return to Baboon Safari resort for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin your journey to Bwindi National Park with an exciting game drive through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its unique tree-climbing lions. While lion cubs often climb trees for fun, the adult lionesses here are known to lounge in fig trees, escaping tsetse flies and enjoying the breeze—an excellent opportunity for photography. As you traverse this remote area, take in the stunning landscapes and abundant birdlife. Afterward, exit the park with a stop for lunch along the way before arriving in Bwindi. Check in at Bweza Gorilla Lodge for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the starting point of your thrilling morning gorilla trek, with a packed lunch ready. You'll journey into the dense jungle, navigating through the wilderness to find the gorillas. Once you arrive, you'll spend an unforgettable hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat—an experience you'll cherish forever. After the trek, you’ll be transferred to Lake Mutanda, where you’ll check in at the lodge situated on a picturesque peninsula overlooking the lake and the breathtaking Virunga Mountains. The resort offers comfortable accommodations along with some of the most spectacular views on Earth. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Mutanda Lake Resort.
After breakfast, embark on a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mutanda, where you can breathe in the fresh air and admire the stunning scenery surrounding the lake. Return for lunch, then transfer to Kisoro town, where you'll arrive and check in at Kisoro Traveler’s Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga National Park for a briefing before beginning your golden monkey trekking adventure. This thrilling trek will bring you up close to the playful golden monkeys while allowing you to explore the park's diverse attractions. After your trek, return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Upon arrival, check in at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, embark on a mid-morning boat cruise along the serene waters of Lake Bunyonyi, known for its crystal-clear depths and 29 picturesque islands. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure—whether you choose to swim in the bilharzia-free waters or simply unwind along the peaceful shoreline, taking in the natural beauty. In the evening, savor a delightful dinner and settle in for an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort.
After your morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy the stunning scenery along the way, featuring diverse and captivating landscapes. We'll also stop for lunch during the drive. Upon arrival, check in at Mburo Safari Lodge, where you can unwind and enjoy a restful evening before having dinner and spending the night.
Wake early and have time to take a delight breakfast before you head for a game drive through the park in search of game like the zebras, hippos, crocodiles, elands, antelopes, impalas and a variety of bird species. After you will return to your lodge for lunch and then head for a 2-hour boat launch on Lake Mburo to see animals like the hippos, crocodiles and various bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Mburo safari lodge.
Day 19: Walking safari and Horseback riding
After breakfast, a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide will meet you for a briefing before leading you on a guided safari walk. This is an excellent opportunity to stretch your legs and experience wildlife up close on foot. Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda that allows safari walks, offering a unique chance to see the same animals you would encounter on a game drive, but in a more intimate setting. After the walk, return for lunch. In the evening, enjoy a short horseback ride to observe wildlife at close range. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Mburo Safari Lodge.
Day 20: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast in the morning, we’ll check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala. Lunch will be served along the way, and we expect to arrive in the early evening in time for your scheduled flight back home.
